Vegetable Crude Oil Mill

  • Design /Build contractor for a 100 TPD crude vegetable oil mill.
  • Project required an entire campus of buildings to support the operation including rail and truck loading facilities for meal, rail and truck loading facility for finished oil, process storage tanks, meal storage tanks, and incoming product storage warehouse.

Provide design/build services for an oil mill complex that included a 10,000 SF oil stock building, a 10,000 SF crushing building, a 3,200 SF unloading building, a 4,500 SF meal load out building and a 4,500 SF oil load out building. Buildings consisted of slabs-on-grade with pre-engineered metal buildings, VCT, ACT, sheetrock, electrical, HVAC and process piping systems.  Interior steel mezzanines were provided to facilitate the equipment and piping for the process systems.  A tank farm was included to hold finished product.  The site(8 acres) had to be graded for the complex including the installation of erosion control measures and 1,300 LF of new storm sewer piping.  Underground electrical, natural gas and sanitary sewer lines were installed to support the facilities.  Project included traffic flow design for 6,720 SY of new paved roads that allowed for incoming and outgoing truck traffic from the new complex to flow seamlessly into the existing plant.  Project also included a 2,030 LF rail spur for the transport of finished product via rail cars.
