Bates was selected by this regional leader in truss manufacturing to design and build their first facility outside of Florida. Bates design and construction team worked with the client to fully understand their needs for the new plant, including making trips to the existing operations in another state. Site work included the land planning of a 60-acre site with grading an improved area of 20 acres for building pad, parking lots, load/unload drives and finished goods storage. Manufacturing space was complete with fire protection, CAT6 data distribution equipment and network, air ventilation units with evaporative cooling, and a large compressed air piping network. Two story admin space provided conference areas, training area, employee break and locker rooms as well as open and private offices. Main building structure was PEMB with metal wall panels and SSRM roof. Also included the design, construction and installation of over 400’ of under-slab conveying systems to remove wood waste.
