  • Provide new plant to produce up to 4 MGD of safe drinking water
  • Provide SCADA system integration to allow the new water plant and pumping system to maintain pressure throughout the community via four elevated storage tanks

Bates was selected by this GA municipality to construct a new greenfield municipal water treatment facility.  Site work consisted of grading and landscaping a 5-acre site, asphalt driveways, concrete paving and sidewalks, perimeter security fence with automatic gate controls, and installing new well equipment onsite and installing a remote well one mile away.  Building structures included a PEMB frame with SSMR over the main treatment equipment as well as a split-face CMU pump/operations building.  Major treatment equipment was provided and installed included an Arsenic absorption system with supporting equipment and tanks, chemical feed system, and onsite ground storage tank.  Project consisted of high-speed water delivery pumps and a jockey pump system.  Required ductile iron process piping both above and below ground as well as over 5000’ of supply line installed from the remote well site.  Medium and low voltage electrical systems were required as well as a 500kW emergency generator with fuel system.  Plant SCADA systems were supplied that controlled and analyzed the water production as well as interfaced with all the other water storage tanks throughout the municipality.
