Peanut Processing Facility Upgrades

  • Major upgrades to improve food safety at a facility originally designed and built by Bates in 1987
  • Scheduled construction services around ongoing operations with all necessary food safety and sanitary considerations

Bates was asked by this long-standing client to come in and provide numerous upgrades to improve food safety and product flow.  The plant is the only fully integrated processing facility in the US that receives raw peanuts in the shell and processes to fully finished/packaged products.  Originally designed and built by Bates in 1987, recently the owner needed to make upgrades to accommodate newer processes and food safety requirements.  Major work features included product segregation walls throughout the production areas with high-speed rolling doors, new custom stainless steel trench drain systems, and finished goods rack storage installation.  Bates provided design/build services to accomplish the owner’s new goals while accommodating the plant’s ongoing production efforts.
