C-130J Two Bay Hangar

  • New 60,000 SF Hangar to house two C-130J aircraft including administrative space and fuel cell testing
  • Contract included the renovation of an existing C-130 hangar and extensive airfield concrete paving

The Bates team was selected by USACE-Savannah District to provide Prime Contractor services for this project located in North Carolina.  The construct-only contract included the new 60,000SF hangar along with major renovations of an existing aircraft hangar.  The new hangar allow for the maintenance and testing of aircraft fuel cells and included fabric hangar doors, fall protection systems,  personnel air breathing system, AFFF fire protection and over 10,000 SF of administrative space.  Project also included several thousand yards of concrete airfield paving for aprons and aircraft parking.
