Bates was chosen to construct a new 1.0 MGD wastewater treatment facility for a food processing plant located in Georgia. The greenfield project consisted of all site grading and civil works, clarifiers, aeration basins and all yard piping and wwtp equipment to complete a working facility. Pre-stressed concrete structures were specified by the engineer and installed under Bates’ direction for the aeration basin, clarifiers and anoxic basins. Bates self-performed all cast-in-place concrete structures including plant pump station and numerous auxiliary structures. Bates also self-performed all plant piping systems and treatment plant equipment installation including clarifier mechanisms, air piping, diffusers, etc. Contract also included the construction of a new control building and laboratory and complete plant SCADA system.
